Almay has a brand new eyeshadow line out in stores right now! But is it worth buying?
Oh, beauty posts, it's been awhile! While I was shopping around CVS trying to find a monthly planner for my blog post management I meandered on over to the beauty section and immediately this little guy caught my eye.
Doesn't it look like the Quicktime logo?
This is from Almay's newest line of eyeshadows called Shadow Softies Eyeshadow, all of which are gorgeous looking. They promise the formula is creaseless, easy to blend, and will last for hours. Since I'm drowning in eyeshadows, I only picked up one in this pretty, dainty pink-rose color called Petal.
If you're a super pale gal like myself, Petal is going to be very sheer on your skin. As you can see, it's best with an eyeshadow primer underneath (the middle swatch). Unfortunately, I did have to change the colors and saturation of the image for Petal to be seen on camera. This is indeed a very, very sheer color!
Most of the colors are matte with only the slightest hint of shimmer. The Softies are incredibly easy to blend with an intensely satin feeling texture. Using a brush, you have to really pack on the color so the payout on product could be better.
So, are the Softies truly creaseless? For the most part, yes! Do they last for quite some time? If your eyelids aren't too oily, then yes, these will typically last a good eight to ten hours. For those with oily eyelids, it might be closer to five hours.
There is a small line of Almay Softies eyeshadow available at Target, CVS, Ulta, and other drugstore locations right now! Check them out the next time you're beauty shopping (or planner shopping, apparently).
