DIY Sherlock (BBC) Nail Decals

It's baaaack! Although, not nearly long enough. Despite the short seasons, you can enjoy Sherlock anytime with some easy Sherlock inspired nails you can do yourself using waterslide nail decals!
If you follow me on Instagram, you already saw a sneak peek of the goodies I got. One of them was some super awesome Sherlock nail stickers that say "I AM SHER_LOCKED" with his silhouette. And now, I'm going to show you how you can do this all by yourself!

The lady behind SuperSexyNailArt made these, so you should check out her Etsy store for this tutorial!

You will need:
Sherlock nail art stickers
Scissors or Exacto Knife
Cup of water
Black nail polish
White nail polish
Top coat

Step 1. Paint all of your nails black except your ring fingers. Do any pre-nail polish prep if needed or extra coats. Let it dry and then paint your ring fingers with the white nail polish.

Step 2. Using your scissors, cut out one of the Sherlock stickers. Make sure it will fit onto your nail once it is taken off the paper. It is usually best to cut out the sticker in the shape of your nail so it will fit better.

Step 3. Dunk the little sticker FACE SIDE UP! This is important. Well, maybe not so important since I accidentally sunk one of the stickers completely and it was fine. But, anywho, make sure you get the backing of the sticker wet. Let it sit for about 15 seconds.

Step 4. Using your fingers if you're nifty like that or a pair of tweezers, gently slide the sticker off of the paper backing (hence the nail decals being called "waterslide nail decals") and then place it gently onto your ring finger. Smooth out any bumps and cut off any excess sticker.

Step 5. Put on some top coat and you're ready to play some violin and over-assess peoples demeanor!

Like I said on Instagram, I apologize for the inconsistent posts and being MIA lately! It has been quite the busy week and I'm also rather stressed out about this potential new job. But I hope you do your own Sherlock nails and share them online! :)
